Three Farmers
In a remote village of western Nepal, there lived three farmers. They grew up together, their friendship and scarify to each other was so strong, people on the village used to envy them. Besides, they were reputed for diligence and honesty. From childhood to their adolescence they have been working in a farm helping each other parent. Education was a distant accessibility to them. Modern day’s fashions, movies, greedy possession of materials was fairy tell to them. They pretty much had their own bounded confined world – where life was routine. They were always happy because there were no comparison or competition among themselves. The evil jealousy had never came to their friendship. Their sense of humor were about nature and their pretty little village, unlike modern days artificial humor based on down grading other person or race or sex. As wheel of time continuously moving they have grown up now, they could feel the heat of their masculinity. Neighbor started talking about their marriages; they were the dream of every girl in the village. Even, married women envy they wish their husband be like them. Finally time had come, in a few month apart they were a married men. New life has started, more responsibilities of taking care of wife and the parent.
Even after their marriage, their friendship remained the same. They were then same happy guys, with the sense of responsibilities and duties. Until, one day for the first time in their life they felt strange emotion.
It was bright sunny day; they set out for their farm together as usual. While they were working on the farm, they heard a strange sound not far distant from their field. First farmer, decided to go there and find out what is happening. After hours past, he didn’t return back. That set the curiosity to second farmer, so he went to the place to find out what is happening. After an hour he came back but didn’t talk much about it. He was doing back and forth between the place and the farm the entire day. Third farmer would be the most astound person. Yet he was determined to wrap up his work and go see the mysterious place. At the end of the day, on his way to the place he met both his pals returning back from the place. They said, “The strange thing had disappeared now”. They had never seen the things before, but neither they could explain it nor they could express. Only could they feel it. They explained him, “You should have come to see the thing at least once and felt it”. First time in his life he realized, had not he gave so much priority on the work, he could have experienced what his friends did. He murmured, “there are certain things some time valued more than just work.” Deep inside his heart, second farmer was very unhappy. He realized, half- hearted effort never complete any task. Even though he had been to both farm and the place, he could not enjoyed, because he could only think about the work when he was at the place and only think about the place when he was at work. He hardly had finished half of his job. There was no satisfaction in him. And the first farm now suddenly realized, “All time enjoyment has cost him his entire day work”. Now he was day behind at his work. He was regretful of his immature did.
First time, they seemed sad and unhappy. They were quite that evening. Two hours long back home walk was pin drop silent, only the noises of birds were heard.
