Photography is not my profession, but it’s
being a crucial part of my life since my childhood. After finishing my
school, since then I am being involved with it almost like 15 years in
some way and aspect. I prefer to say myself as an amateur photographer,
rather than saying as a professional. I did photography for school,
universities, newspapers, and portrait of people. Most of the time, I
would like to photograph for landscape, mountains, nature, and the
phases of the sun.
And about myself, I born and raised in a small village of Tanahun
district, named Bandipur. At the age of 5, we came down to Dumre, which
is the nearest small town of Bandipur and went school for 7 years, but I
finished my schooling from Amar Jyoti Secondary School, Gorkha back in
1988. Did my I. Sc. from Trichandra Collge, and B.Sc. from Ascol in
1993. Then, I went T.U. at Kirtipur for my master’s degree on
Mathematics and almost finished my second year, but ended up with coming
USA in 1999. I graduated in Computer Information Systems from Bellevue
University, Nebraska in January 2002.

Although Birathnagar is my birthplace, I would like to
claim that my identity is closely associated with Downtown Katmandu. They
call it Ason. Finished my high School from Siddhartha Vanasthali back in
1989. Did my I.Sc from St.Xavier’s College. Then came to US and graduated
with Conservation Biology Degree from Wayne State College of Nebraska. And
that was in 1996. Worked briefly at University of Nebraska-Lincoln as a Lab
Assistant. Grinned lots of plant leaves trying to isolate RNA and finally
detect plant virus. Went back to Wayne State briefly to do graduate school;
soon to realize that I had had it with bitter cold and endless sight of
corn.
Moved to New York City in 1997. Worked as intern at Wildlife Conservation
Society in Brooklyn Zoo as Behavior Researcher. Loved recording Baboons
mate, but could not survive on the inadequate dollar the job was paying me.
So, started working at a Biotech Company doing Molecular Biology and
Transgenic Science. Did that for three years. Lab was mundane, and I could
play Bob Marley only so many times in the lab. So decided to pursue
something different. Got job offer at Amersham Biosciences in marketing.
Soon they realized that I am better at Sales than marketing so for almost
two years now I have been doing Sales- trying to sell Biotech Products.
Meanwhile, I got married last year and just had a wonderful daughter about
two weeks ago. |
